What is isomaltulose?
Isomaltulose (Palatinose™) is a 32 GI (slow-carb disaccharide) or low-glycemic non-GMO beet sugar made of glucose and fructose. As an isomer of sucrose, It is similar to sucrose but slowly digestible.
Isomaltulose is a source of energy and can provide 4 Calories per gram, which is about the same as sucrose. Because Isomaltulose (32 GI) is a slow and sustained-release carbohydrate, it doesn’t ‘spike’ blood sugar, like sucrose.
